1. Can you describe your style? Do you specialize in any type of music?

I mix everything live and I use turntables. I create fun, energetic new mixes

for each performance.

2. How long have you been DJ’ing weddings?

Nearly 2 decades, I can’t believe it tbh

3. What kind of equipment do you use, and do you bring back up

equipment with you?

I have a custom DJ console that glows! I also use all new mics and speakers

so everything sounds very professional. Absolutely. I always have back up equipment.

4. Can couples give you a list of must-hear songs? What about a do-not -

play list?

Yes, I have a customized Cake Riot App that my couples use. It organizes all

of the music for their Wedding. They can customize the music and write

notes to me as well. The App makes every Wedding much more tailored

and authentic.

Oh Yes, There is definitely a DO NOT play list

5. Do you take song requests from guests?

Most couples are fine with a few requests here and there but honestly that

is up the couples. If they do not want me to take requests then I will honor

that.

6. How far in advance do couples need to book a DJ?

Cake Riot is made up of 5 DJs including myself. We typically book almost 1

year in advance.

7. Do you also act as an emcee and make announcements?

Yes, I typically make important announcements when needed. I also

introduce the Newlyweds, Wedding Party and other important guests. All of

this is also covered by our Cake Riot App!

8. How do you encourage a shy crowd to get up and dance?

I have learned a few good tricks over the years. I don’t want to give away all

of my secrets but I do know that the Bride & Groom inviting everyone to

the middle of the Dancefloor is a great way to get a shy crowd dancing. This

also keeps the energy going as well. Also, a group photo to open the

dancefloor or group dance to start is always fun!
